The report on the external review of the Veterinary Research Institute (VRI) of the Department was handed over recently to the Secretary, Ministry of Livestock and Rural Community Development and Secretary (his representative), Ministry of Agriculture at the Auditorium of the Sri Lanka Council for Agricultural Research Policy (SLCARP).

The external review of the VRI was commissioned by the SLCARP with the objective of assessing the quality, relevance and impact of scientific programs implemented by the VRI.

The review team consisted of highly competent technical experts in the Agriculture and Livestock Sector. Dr. Oswin Perera, Retired Professor, Faculty of veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, and the Chairman  of this Review team officially handed over the report to Dr. K.M.T.Kendaragama, Secretary, Ministry of Livestock and Rural Community Development and, to Dr. H.Wijewardena, Director (On behalf of the Secretary ),  Ministry of   Agriculture.

Dr. J.D. Samarasinghe, Chairman, SLCARP, Mr. Prabath Wimal Kumara, Director, SLCARP, Dr. A.D.N. Chandrasiri, Additional Director General, Department of Animal Production and Health and several other distinguish invitees were present at this occasion.
